About this site
"Japan Local Crime Map" is a multilingual information service that lets you easily check local crime and suspicious-person reports across Japan on a map.
Purpose and audience
Our goal is to help you learn what crimes are happening around your home, workplace or school and use that knowledge for prevention. The service supports 10 languages so that foreign residents and visitors can use it too. Beyond browsing, it offers user reports (published after moderator review) and push notifications about crimes near your registered address.
Maps and data
Maps are powered by OpenStreetMap data, and address search by OpenStreetMap's Nominatim. Crime information is based on data published by police and municipalities and on user reports; it does not cover every incident and its accuracy is not guaranteed.
